Sept 23...Great First Week

Maggie Li
It was a great week for our little Family. It's been a bit of a blur but all 3 of us returned to East coast time pretty quickly. Sat-Sun-Mon we were all awake at odd hours. But Josh starting work on Monday helped and Kelly did a great job with Amy, so she has slept mostly very full nights for the last several days.

Some of the highlights of the week include:

Crawling! We noticed that during our second day in Guangzhou, Amy was starting to want / try to crawl. She got better pretty quickly here and by Thursday evening she was scampering around the living room. One funny thing for Kelly and I has been to watch Amy's reaction to the carpet / terrazzo border. At first she wanted nothing to do with that cold, hard surface. By this afternoon she was motoring down the hallway after her mama.

Can you hear me? I'm VERY EXCITED to be here
Eating - Another fun part for Kelly and me to see. Over the course of a few days she improved her Cheerios eating from palming, to biting half, then to eating the whole piece. She's a big fan of noodles. In China, children start eating noodles at about 4 months.

She's been to a few different markets, Target, Home Depot, both our work places and had lots of visits from her loving Naples family and a couple of Skypes with her loving California family.

With My Cousin Laney on her birthday!
We watched our first Manchester United match this morning. She was on my shoulders and we bounced around as Robin Van Persie scored the winning goal!

We rounded out a really positive week with Cousin Delaney's 11th Birthday party. Lots of fun for the family and Amy. She's a crowd pleaser - for sure!
