So we are finally home and very happy! I (Kelly) am finally able to post for the first time in over 2 weeks. Amy was a fantastic traveler and such a trooper. She only got about 5-6 hours of sleep in the 24 hour period of traveling. Only cried a few times, usually having to do with sleep - either being woken up or not being comfortable. She made many friends along the way and we received many compliments. She is quite the attention grabber and loves to talk - fits into our family very well.We got in just after 10 and my parents came to get us. They were and are definitely proud grandparents!!! Then when we got home Stacy & the kids were here to greet us. Amy loves her new family - of course when everyone is paying attention to her, she is always happy. Ben was able to get her to smile first, which is wonderful since she's still hesitant around men. She's still not sure what to make of the camera, though, especially the flash and there were lots of pictures being taken last night. Of course Josh & I didn't take any - silly parents.
Amy & Josh finally got to sleep around 1 and I stayed up with our 4 legged kids till 2. They are not sure about this loud little person we brought back with us. She only woke up a few times & was able to go back to sleep fairly quickly. This is the 5th bed she's gone to sleep in in the past 2 weeks so not surprised she's a little scared. We all slept till 12 and the 2 of us are doing well so far. Amy is already napping again, which is normal so if all goes well, we can all get another good night sleep. Not going to get too excited yet.
As Josh said yesterday, we have enjoyed sharing this wonderful journey with friends and family & have treasured the comments. Being out of contact for so long during such an incredible event was very difficult so the blog helped. Love to everyone and we cannot wait for everyone to meet her!!!! We are so happy our family is complete. Its been a long 6 years but definitely worth it. This was the daughter we were meant to have!!!!!
